The modes the use for their twitter page and my
model text are pictures, text, dialogue, layout (design of my twitter
account), movement (gifs), and movement
and sound (vines).
2.
The audience they target are coaches and
recruiters from all over to promote high school basketball in nebraska. This audience is from Nebraska mainly to see,
but a lot of Midwest colleges interested
in high school athletics in Nebraska see it too. I read the text as a way to
promote high school basketball while college recruiters look at it as a way to
see how certain recruits from Nebraska are playing in tournaments. The author uses “You” as a pronoun a lot. For
example, saying “you gotta come see this kid play” because it shows that anyone
has to come watch a talented player play. The author constructs the
relationship semi professional. They sometimes tweet back at people if they’re
offended, but other than that, it is to promote Nebraska high school basketball.
they always list stats and height so those stand out because you want to stay
updated on how some players are playing.
3.
The author uses high school athletes to create
relationships and identities within their twitter page. They often tag people if they play a good
game. The author might use I or me in the sense as if “If I was a college
coach, id come check this kid out. But that’s just me”
4.
The author’s purpose is to promote high school
athletes in the state of Nebraska because Nebraska athletes don’t get that much
recognition. They want athletes from Nebraska to get recruited. They want
people to think that Nebraska really does have the talent in high school sports
and don’t get enough recognition. In their twitter bio, it says “Dedicated to Nebraska High School Basketball.
Recruiting news, game and player information. In connection with@NebHSFootballinfo@nebraskahshoops.com”
5.
They use outside research by providing
recruiting reports on top players in the state.
They talk to colleges about who is recruiting them and try to promote
their “recruiting stock.” They often do this after tournaments and before the
season to remind people how they’ve been playing
6.
The author organizes the twitter page game by
game at tournaments and after the games he will recognize people who had good
stats that game. To connect his ideas, the author brings up previous games the
athlete played well in to show how well he has been playing lately.

The genre is a twitter page promoting high
school basketball in Nebraska and high school sports. It started as Nebraska high school basketball
and eventually went to football and baseball. It helps promote all athletes in
Nebraska. Conventions in this project are the 140 character limit, interactions
with the players, and they have their own logo.
8.
This account is also hooked up to an instagram
and it posts pictures of current games. It
is used to show who is playing and that they are right there supporting the
game. They are just pictures of players/teams about to play a game. The author
does this to show that they are there watching them and to get more people to
come out and watch as well. These images works with the text around them because
they are promoting these athletes and the pictures show they’re there to
support them as well as promote them.
10. Since
it is a twitter page, the designated font is the default font twitter already
had set up. This twitter page capitalizes important things because you cant
bold, italicize, etc. on twitter. It is tweeted within the 140 character limit
promoting events and tournaments regarding Nebraska high school teams and
players. They have their own logo that shows they are legit in helping
out/promoting Nebraska high school basketball, the athletes, and many other
sports as well.
To make this type of twitter, you need to create an email
first. Then go to twitter and make an account. You will have to use your email.
That’s when you create a username and password. It can be anything you want
within about 20 characters, unless someone already has that twitter name. After your name for twitter and account has
been set up, you can follow and tweet whatever you want, as long as it is
within the 140 character limit. Now, you promote your event and try to get
people to come. Explain why people
should come. Be brief, but to the point.
Don’t be cheesy and try to appeal to your audience and make them feel
like they have to go or they will be missing out.
