1.     The modes the use for their twitter page and my model text are pictures, text, dialogue, layout (design of my twitter account),  movement (gifs), and movement and sound (vines).
2.     The audience they target are coaches and recruiters from all over to promote high school basketball in nebraska.  This audience is from Nebraska mainly to see, but  a lot of Midwest colleges interested in high school athletics in Nebraska see it too. I read the text as a way to promote high school basketball while college recruiters look at it as a way to see how certain recruits from Nebraska are playing in tournaments.  The author uses “You” as a pronoun a lot. For example, saying “you gotta come see this kid play” because it shows that anyone has to come watch a talented player play. The author constructs the relationship semi professional. They sometimes tweet back at people if they’re offended, but other than that, it is to promote Nebraska high school basketball. they always list stats and height so those stand out because you want to stay updated on how some players are playing.
3.     The author uses high school athletes to create relationships and identities within their twitter page.  They often tag people if they play a good game. The author might use I or me in the sense as if “If I was a college coach, id come check this kid out. But that’s just me”
4.     The author’s purpose is to promote high school athletes in the state of Nebraska because Nebraska athletes don’t get that much recognition. They want athletes from Nebraska to get recruited. They want people to think that Nebraska really does have the talent in high school sports and don’t get enough recognition. In their twitter bio, it says “Dedicated to Nebraska High School Basketball. Recruiting news, game and player information. In connection with@NebHSFootballinfo@nebraskahshoops.com”
5.     They use outside research by providing recruiting reports on top players in the state.  They talk to colleges about who is recruiting them and try to promote their “recruiting stock.” They often do this after tournaments and before the season to remind people how they’ve been playing
6.     The author organizes the twitter page game by game at tournaments and after the games he will recognize people who had good stats that game. To connect his ideas, the author brings up previous games the athlete played well in to show how well he has been playing lately.
7.     The genre is a twitter page promoting high school basketball in Nebraska and high school sports.  It started as Nebraska high school basketball and eventually went to football and baseball. It helps promote all athletes in Nebraska. Conventions in this project are the 140 character limit, interactions with the players, and they have their own logo.
8.     This account is also hooked up to an instagram and it posts pictures of current games.  It is used to show who is playing and that they are right there supporting the game. They are just pictures of players/teams about to play a game. The author does this to show that they are there watching them and to get more people to come out and watch as well. These images works with the text around them because they are promoting these athletes and the pictures show they’re there to support them as well as promote them.
10. Since it is a twitter page, the designated font is the default font twitter already had set up. This twitter page capitalizes important things because you cant bold, italicize, etc. on twitter. It is tweeted within the 140 character limit promoting events and tournaments regarding Nebraska high school teams and players. They have their own logo that shows they are legit in helping out/promoting Nebraska high school basketball, the athletes, and many other sports as well.

To make this type of twitter, you need to create an email first. Then go to twitter and make an account. You will have to use your email. That’s when you create a username and password. It can be anything you want within about 20 characters, unless someone already has that twitter name.  After your name for twitter and account has been set up, you can follow and tweet whatever you want, as long as it is within the 140 character limit. Now, you promote your event and try to get people to come.  Explain why people should come. Be brief, but to the point.  Don’t be cheesy and try to appeal to your audience and make them feel like they have to go or they will be missing out.

My critical question
·      What effects the decision making of young adults?
Sub questions/ sub topics
·      How can the habits you have today effect your life in the future?
·      How can decisions lead to habits?
·      How can being more responsible about partying lead to a better lifestyle?
What I want the purpose of this text to be
·      Taking responsibility for your own actions.
·      If you have your mind set on something, do whatever you can to achieve it.
·      Set a high goal and hit it
·      I want people to feel like if they set their mind something they can achieve it.
·      I also want them to think if they feel like they are being pressured by people around them to party and all the stuff that goes on with teenagers, that there are ways to avoid it.
·      I want to inform people on using their talents for good rather than just partying every night.
My audience
·      High school graduates in general
·      High school graduates that are going to play a sport in college
·      Parents that have been affected by their kids children
·      Mainly I want high school kids that have goals for themselves that are sports related or job related at a young age and teach them how to avoid the temptations of high school and college.
How I envision them
·      Kids that are a little reserved and shy, play sports or have high goals for them. Although reserved and shy, they’re confident in themselves and have high self-esteem.
·      Another way I see my audience looking like is the popular athletes in high school that party all the time.  They’re good looking kids, get all the girls, party all the time, and are extremely athletic and could possibly play a sport in college.
What genre
·      I kind of want to create a dart board with 10 different things behind it that relate to my critical question, such as different poems, art, pictures, music, etc.
·      Or I could do a video showing what goes on at parties and how it affects good athletes.
·      I’m pretty good at websites. I’m decent at poetry.
Modes that will be used
·      Poem
·      Text
·      Visual
·      Movement
·      Video
·      Picture
·      Music (Songs)
·      Images
·      Dialogue
·      These are all the modes I am considering, I haven’t necessarily narrowed it down yet

To my understanding, the conventions of this genre would be throwing the dart and hitting a number on the dart board. Depending on the number they hit, there will be a different mode to be chosen for each number hit. I am sort of confused on this whole convention point, but I think that is what you mean. For my model text, I could do a documentary video or a youtube video on teen drinking and partying.  Honestly, the last 2 bullet points for this blog I am super confused on and I am probably going to need your help more on them. I don’t really understand the convention and what model texts I am supposed to use.
So after class, I decided to kind of change my genre.  I still like my dartboard as an idea, and it is definitely still a possibility, but it would just be tough to go about and get it done. There are probably too many parts to it to do it. Now, I want to do a social media twitter page. This page would be set up to show problems occurring due to teen partying.  I could use pictures, text, dialogue, movement, such as vines or gifs, sound, etc.  I would try to promote being responsible and making responsible decisions when it comes to the tough decisions of being a teenager.  The conventions of my project are hashtags, which connect people with similar interests, the 140 character limit, which restricts you so you can only provide a brief message within the tweet, and tagging people (the @ character) is another convention, which allows interaction and conversation between 2 or more people. As a model text, I could use a twitter page used to promote a certain behavior, such as Nebraska high school hoops twitter page. This twitter page promotes basketball in the state of Nebraska. It provides results of tournaments and recruiting updates of certain players. Like them, I could promote the people that follow me about making responsible decisions.

My audience is more provided to teenagers that have a tough time with making the right decision. My audience would be around my age because that is who is involved in the social media process right now.  A little of my audience would be parents that have kids in the process of making decisions. These parents would have to have a social media page of course. There are plenty of parents that do have social media pages that could follow this page so I think it would work out and could be really good.
